Virtues of Namaaz

  1. It is the best of all deeds ( ‘amal ).
  2. It is the best possession for the life Here after ( aakherat ).
  3. It provides spiritual ( ruhaani ) strength, health and tranquility.
  4. It is one of the characteristics of abstinence and asceticism ( parhaiz-gaari ).
  5. It is the key to the Paradise ( jannat ).
  6. It is the ascension ( me’raaj ) of the faith of a believer.
  7. It is the last commandment ( wiraasat ) of the Prophets.
  8. It helps us to refrain from unlawful and forbidden ( haraam ) deeds.
  9. It teaches us punctuality.
  10. It takes us close to the kindness and mercy ( rehmat ) of Allaah.
  11. It is the face ( wajh ) of religion.
  12. It is the foundation ( buniyaad ) and buttress of the Islaam.
  13. It is the liberation ( najaat ) from the fire of the Hell in the life Here after.
  14. It is the gleam ( noor ) in the grave of a believer.
  15. It discriminates and distinguishes the believer ( mu’min ) and infidel ( kaafir ).
  16. It is an atonement and expiation for the sins ( gunaah, zunoob ).
  17. It habituates us to speak truth ( haqq ).
  18. It makes the temperament ( tabi’at ) gentle and broadens the heart.
  19. It is the accepted and desirable ( mehboob ) deed near Allaah.
  20. It reminds us the beneficence ( ne’mat ) and favors of Allaah.
  21. It is a kind of supplication ( du’a ) and supplication is a weapon ( silaah ) of a believer.
